The End.

That's right, I wrote two of my favorite words this weekend. The rough draft of Werecat 4 is finally finished. It was not easy. In fact, I had more trouble with this manuscript than I had with any of the previous seven.

Wow. I've written eight books. Time out for some amazement on my part. I hadn't actually taken count in a while. And there are two more manuscripts to be written before the end of this calendar year.

It's going to be a really busy summer.

But back to the part about Werecat 4 kicking my tail up one side of the laptop and down the other.
It was a difficult book to write, due in part to all the other excitement going on these last few weeks, and in part to the fact that it contains several plot lines that were tough for me to wrap my mind around.

The book is a little short, but there's one scene I'm planning to add in the rewrites, and fleshing it out always adds a good 5-10 thousand words. But it's basically done now, and I'm very, very pleased with it.

I am, however, a little nervous about reader reaction. I think Rinda's response to it will mirror that of the rest of the readers, so I'm both nervous and anxious to send it to her.

For now, I'm taking a few days off. I don't really have time for that, but I need a little bit of a break before I dive back into work. I've got edits coming on both PRIDE and MY SOUL TO TAKE (the first of my YA banshee books) and I also need to have the second YA turned in by August 15th.

That's not quite as scary as it sounds, however, because those are just over half the length of my adult books.

But for the next couple of days, I'm catching up on email, Lost, and reading. I read One Foot in the Grave last week and love, love, loved it, and now I'm reading Wicked Game. Fantastic books. You all must go preorder them both right now. We'll be seeing more of Ms. Frost and Ms. Smith-Ready here in the next week, because I love their books so much. Seriously.

So stay tuned...!

It all sounds time consuming but exciting at the same time. I really do love to read about your days. I always feel motivated to do more after reading about your schedule and work ethic!

Congratulations on being totally awesome :D

Why, thank you! Oh, but if you could see me, you'd understand how frazzled I really am right now. I don't feel awesome. I feel...busy. ;-)

I'm very much looking forward to the rest of your serious, but since I have another 10-ish months to wait, I'm looking towards a more immediate horizon: Tomorrow! I can't WAIT to read One Foot in the Grave, and I'm glad that those who have ARCs seem to be enjoying it. :)

Oh, yes, I LOVED One Foot in the Grave! It was amazing! Even better than the first one. And now I'm pouting because I don't know when the third one comes out. ;-)
